Christmas at The Dwelling Place
Preparations are underway for a festive Christmas at The Dwelling Place. Staff and residents joined in a tree decorating party in the dining room on Thursday evening, December 10. Many hands created a beautifully adorned tree for all to enjoy throughout the season. The nativity creche is in its special place atop the fireplace while a Christmas village set up on the piano adds to the warmth of the setting.
On Christmas Eve and Christmas morning special meals and gatherings are provide for the women living in the house creating a spirit of joy and community to ease the challenges of homelessness often felt more keenly during the holiday season.
Dinner will be served on Christmas Day from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm for current and former residents, elderly neighbors, and homeless women in the local area. Individuals, church groups, and corporations are collecting and preparing a variety of gifts to be shared with all our guests to brighten their day and provide for their needs.
