November 2016 Calendar Raffle
While you enjoy the warmth of the sun and the activities of the season, we ask your help to promote our Calendar Raffle among your family and friends. You will notice that we have changed the raffle this year from September to November to give us a little extra time to spread the word and to visit churches that are willing to support this fundraiser. Even though the month has changed the winnings remain the same along with your 30 chances to win. The biggest prize ($450) will be on Thanksgiving Day.
Also, we are dedicating the funds raised to our Meals with a Heart Campaign. This project is to assist The Dwelling Place to cover the cost of food and housekeeping supplies. Our budget for food and housekeeping for 2016 – 2017 is $24,000. With your help we can continue to provide nourishing meals within a caring environment that is orderly, clean, and equipped to meet the needs of the women being served.
The funds raised through the Calendar Raffle would be of great assistance in purchasing food and beverages, including fresh fruit and vegetables, for daily meals and for the Wednesday evening Open Dinner. Funding would also assist in supplying tableware, napkins, cleaning supplies, dish detergent, and kitchen utensils when needed. Having all of these items in place helps to build the spirit of support and bonding that occurs during meals at The Dwelling Place, a significant part of our ministry among homeless women.
During this campaign, benefactors will be acknowledged with special notices in the dining room so that the women will know that they are surrounded and supported by caring people providing Meals with a Heart.
Thank you for your on-going faithful support. It is because of YOU that The Dwelling Place continues to be a safe haven and a beacon of hope for so many women facing the traumas of homelessness. From their hearts to yours, THANK YOU!
