Crafting for a Cause: A Wellness Initiative by a student group at Columbia University was first introduced to The Dwelling Place in November of 2016 by its student founder and president, Marilou Fonti. The mission of this group is two-fold: the first is to create a safe space for students to de-stress and unwind, primarily through use of fine motor control by creating jewelry. The second and equally important objective is to reach out to the community.

Marilou and her friends have come several times to provide an evening of fun and relaxation after our Wednesday night Open Dinner. They donate and bring all needed supplies and have shown the women how to make lovely necklaces, earrings, and bracelets.

On Wednesday, January 24, 2018, Marilou and her friends returned to provide a relaxing evening making pearl necklaces. Enjoy the pictures of this great night!
