During recent weeks, several volunteer groups have joined us at The Dwelling Place to serve meals and visit with our residents or to provide special entertainment for our Wednesday night Open Dinner. Special thanks to the following groups who have brightened our winter evenings:
- The Hells Kitchen Democrats led by Diane Zuchnik and Natalie Sheridan. They brought dinner and shared it with our residents on Tuesday, February 4.
- Shelia Etheridge, Shakisha Cox, and the Zeta Amicae of Manhattan. These are long-time friends, an auxiliary group of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, who served, brought a musician, and prepared special gifts for Open Dinner on Wednesday, February 12. Everyone was singing and dancing!
- Dana and Amanda Veraldi and friends prepared Valentine’s Day dinner for our residents. They brought delicious homemade Mexican food, decorations and gifts to celebrate this special day. You may remember that Amanda had her friends give her bridal shower gifts to The Dwelling Place: sheets, slippers, pajamas. Amanda’s husband Scott joined in the Valentine’s festivities along with several other friends.
- A group of performers from the Irish American Writers and Artists led by Dan Brown joined us on Wednesday, February 19, to provide stories and music that set our feel tapping and our hearts stirring with delight.
We are looking forward to other groups making plans to join us soon including an art night and jewelry making night coming in March.
Please enjoy some pictures from our events.
