Giving Tuesday: A Simple Way to Show Your Support

What makes Dec. 1 different from any other day? You.

The Dwelling Place of NY is the only transitional shelter for homeless women of its size in New York City. As a small shelter, we are able to provide women experiencing homelessness with individual attention in a safe, loving and supportive environment.

Giving Tuesday has become a national day of giving, following a weekend of shopping bookended by Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It is a simple way to make a big impact. For many of the women that we serve, it’s those simple things that mean the most.

Your generosity on Giving Tuesday will support the daily needs of the women, providing them with healthy meals, safe shelter, and access to job training and workforce development programs. Your gift will also enable us to provide ongoing education to our staff and maintain our more than 100-year-old building.
