Project Give Back:
Shine and Dine Event at The Dwelling Place
On Thursday, August 27, 2015, a new volunteer with The Dwelling Place, Skarlly Infante, planned a Women’s Empowerment Program for our women residents. Skarlly, along with her friends, Michelle, Jasmine, and Stephanie, brought dinner generously donated by one of their favorite caterers. They led ice-breaker activities to allow the women to share their stories, hopes and challenges. In turn, they shared their own experiences of being strong through difficult times. They concluded the evening by giving each of the women a beautiful gift basket filled with toiletries and surprises. The women, Skarlly, Michelle, Jasmine, and Stephanie forged a special bond through this evening together and look forward to more evenings like this one to come.
Project Give Back is a venture founded by Skarlly to offer service to people in need. Providing the Shine and Dine evening at The Dwelling Place is one of the activities she and her friends have sponsored in the past year. We were delighted to experience their generosity and genuinely caring spirit.
